A $500 USD security deposit is required at the time of vehicle pickup. This deposit is a security hold, not a payment, and will be fully refunded on the final day of the rental. 

This security deposit may be utilized by Casa Garitas On Wheels to cover potential additional costs, such as: lost keys, lockouts, traffic violation fines or damages.

During your rental period, we don’t just provide a vehicle to explore Costa Rica—we also offer folding chairs, a cooler, and an awning, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning sunset on the beach.  

All of our car rentals are based on a full-day rate for both pick-up and drop-off, rather than being charged by the hour. You can collect your vehicle anytime between 8 AM and 5 PM and return it on the last rental day within the same time window. Additionally, we offer flexible pick-up and drop-off times out of our business hours upon request.

To rent a vehicle in Costa Rica, the primary driver must be at least 21 years old. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate drivers under this age. A valid driver’s license is required, and you’re welcome to use either your current license or an international driver’s license—both are accepted in Costa Rica.

To secure your booking, a 20% deposit of the total amount is required, payable via Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card. The remaining 80% is due upon pick-up at your selected location.

For your convenience If you pay the remaining balance (80%) in cash (USD), we’ll gladly apply a 5% discount to the amount due.
